Reading through history, a version of Mother’s Day has been around for ages, though our current version is much different. It does have a dark past, with its commercialization taking away the initial meaning. However, it is still a day to honor mothers of all types, be it biological, foster, through adoption, etc.
Women nowadays have a much different role than they did in the past. Many are working mothers, such as myself, and are still able to give so much of their time to their children. Stay at home moms give up all of their time to their children, and keeping a home, a task much harder than most realize. They should all be celebrated for all they give and sacrifice.
So in this short post, with much going on this day, I’d like to say Happy Mother’s Day around the world! Remember that you are amazing and your children love you no matter how you perceive yourself.
